Stop Running On Empty!

Stop Running On Empty!

Feeling drained and running on empty? You're not alone. In this week's Freedom Friday episode of the Unlearned Podcast, I share my own struggle with depletion and the importance of filling up before hitting rock bottom. It's been a tough week, but it's also served as a reminder to prioritize self-care and replenishment in order to keep cruising through life with freedom and ease.

If you haven't yet, don't forget to check out our current series, Unlearning Religion, where I've had incredible conversations with guests about their journeys of unlearning aspects of their faith. Their inspiring stories might just help you pursue a healthier relationship with religion. Join us as we continue to unlearn and move forward in freedom. See you there!

Speaker 1:

What's up everybody? Welcome once again to the Unlearned Podcast. I am your host with Abigail Smith, and it is once again Freedom Friday, which is an opportunity for me or me and one of my friends to share with you something we've unlearned this week and how it has made us just a little bit more free. So before I get into that, i wanted to thank every single one of you for listening to our current series that we have going on Unlearning Religion. I have had a blast talking to all of my guests about their journey of unlearning some things in their faith, and we've got a few more coming up. If you haven't had a chance to dig into the series, go ahead. I think it's going to. I really think you'll enjoy it. I think it might help you, especially if you are wrestling with or trying to figure out. You know how do I begin this journey towards unlearning something that I might have been putting off because it might be, it might be scary, or I'm unsure, or, you know, i'm not even sure I'm supposed to go on a journey of unlearning religion, because that could be a little bit of a of a difficult thing to even unravel in your mind, like it's just even something I'm supposed to be doing And I think the stories of some of our guests will help you to feel free to pursue a healthier relationship even with religion by unlearning some things that you have to unlearn around it. So hopefully that is helpful and check it out and let us know what you think. So I want to be honest with y'all. This is probably like the third or fourth time I've recorded this, because every time I've started uh, kind of uh, unpacking some things, i'm unlearning. You know it just it, just it just didn't, it wasn't coming the way I wanted it to come, like I, i feel like I wasn't, i don't know, i feel like it just wasn't what it needed to be. And what's crazy is, in those moments you end up figuring out the thing that you, that you really are unlearning, and man I'm I have to realize I am depleted, you know, and one of the things that I think I need to unlearn and I'm certainly unlearning even in this moment is the unlearning accepting the pressure to have to give when you feel like you're empty because it's been a hard week and I have given a lot more than I feel like I've gained And even in this moment, trying to figure out. Man, what am I going to say for freedom Friday? Man, i really have to. You know, i feel like I really have to. I got to share because I said I was going to share every week, and I do, and I want to share every week, um, but I'm depleted and I don't have a whole lot to give. And in that, i think one thing I'm unlearning again, even in this moment, is to fill up before you get empty. Don't let yourself get empty. Fill up, and I have not been doing that as regularly, um, just because of a lack of energy. I've been really busy, but I I never want to be in a position where I feel like I can't give because I haven't gained anything, um, or I haven't put anything or allowed myself to receive, and that's been that kind of week. And so, yeah, i I need to unlearn that. I want to unlearn that, that if you know you're going to have, if you know that there are seasons where you'll be giving a lot, put energy into making sure that you're replenishing yourself in whatever way you need to so that you don't you don't have to run on empty and you don't you don't have to, um, you know you don't have to, you don't have to um, you don't have to um, you don't have to endure running on an empty tank. I hate running on empty. I Don't know about you, i hate running on empty. As soon as that light comes on, i'm going to the gas station because I don't want to be um, i'm gonna be worried like I want to cruise down the road, like cruising. You know, i don't want to. I want to cruise down the road and I don't want to have to worry about my tank And I don't want to have to. You know, stop what I'm doing and and reroute because I need to get gas and I didn't realize it. Like I hate that. So whenever I see the light on, I make sure to go get gas. That's just me, because I want to. I want to kind of live the life. I want to live a free life. I want to cruise down a road with freedom and it really is the same way and In in in my regular life, like I want to cruise down the road of my life with freedom. But the only way to really do that is with a full tank. So I'm having to unlearn to Put myself in a position to give and give without Getting, without gaining, without replenishing, because that's not freedom and I can't cruise like that and I like being on cruise. So if that's you too, come on, let's do better and Let's make sure we're not, we're not running on empty. Let's make sure that we fill ourselves With the time we need, the energy we need, so that We can give our best when it's time to give our best. I I'm a hallowed y'all next week and And Thanks again for joining Freedom Friday's. Y'all know I don't know how to end stuff and I will y'all have a good weekend. Let's keep getting more free peace.
